It may come as a surprise to a number of your readers, but as the Dewsbury East Conservative local election candidate, I am writing in support of recent comments made by my opponent Coun Eric Firth (Lab). In the Deputy Mayor’s latest election leaflet, he calls for the approval of the Yorkshire Water planning application to build a new access road and bridge off Mill Street East.
