James Vaughan came close to giving Town an early lead but Kasper Schmeichel produced a fine stop.

James Vardy then rubbed salt in the wounds by scoring the opener for the hosts on 10 minutes.

Anthony Gerrard then headed into his own net to double the Foxes’ advantage seven minutes before the break.

Sean Scannell’s shot, deflected in by Paul Konchesky, opened the Terriers’ account on 67 minutes but the visitors’ hopes of getting something from the game were dashed when Vaughan was shown a red card for a push on Marcin Wasilewski with five minutes remaining.
