Unbeaten Batley ladies make it a hat-trick of title successes
Batley Ladies tennis team are celebrating again after completing a hat-trick of championship triumphs.
The ladies have finished top of the Huddersfield and District Tennis League’s Division One for the third consecutive year.

They play outdoors at Batley Tennis Centre from April to August against teams from across the Kirklees area.
Batley’s team consists of six players each match who play doubles in a round robin format.
And after the confidence booster of winning the previous two championships this year they were able to go through the entire league campaign without losing a single match.
The Batley side played 14 matches over the season and won 13 with just one draw preventing them from ending with a 100 per cent record.
They left bigger clubs Huddersfield, Holmfirth and Thongsbridge behind by more than 16 points as they ran away with the title in great style.
The ladies collected their winning trophy at the league presentation evening at Crosland Moor Golf Club.
Team members Isla Findlay, Helen Carbutt, Claire Findley, Sue Selby and Claire Wood were there to celebrate while others who played through the season were Laura Murray, Lucy Renucci, Angela Phipps, Ewa Batko, Fran Wyatt, Abbie Whiteley, Helen Hickman and Natalie Hirst.
Batley Ladies team play Monday evenings from March onwards and would welcome any new players who would like to play club tennis. Contact WeDoTennis on [email protected] to show interest.
They also have a team who play in the Dunlop Yorkshire Tennis Doubles League and who secured their place in the second division this year.
