Award-winning Mirfield club preparing for annual beer festival - which will raise money for important community cause
The best club for real ale in the whole of Yorkshire is preparing for its annual beer festival later this month.
Mirfield’s Knowl Club, which was crowned CAMRA Yorkshire Club of the Year for 2026 earlier this year, will be welcoming people through its doors for the November Beer Festival on Friday 13, Saturday 14, and Sunday 15, of this month.

The three-day extravaganza will feature 12 real cask ales on the pop-up bar in the function room as well as four more casks served in the bar.
The club will be serving beers from breweries such as Loch Lomond Brewery, Bass Castle, Wensleydale, Elusive Brewing and Wakey Wakey Brewing, whilst there will be a mixture of blondes, milds and darks, with all casks sponsored by local businesses.
Cask sponsors this year consist of Vullure Studio Mirfield, Revolution Porche Specialists, Home and Body Mirfield, Helping Hounds, Cafe 53, New Day Rising and Scott Waites Darts Coaching.
On Saturday, from 3pm to 6pm, there will be live music from Kane Sowerby while food will be served from 2pm to 8pm on the same day in the form of Proper Toastie.
A raffle will be held over the course of the weekend with funds being raised to cover the cost of a defibrillator which has been bought to be placed outside the club.
Sarah-Jane Moon, of the Knowl Club, said: “We’re very excited to have this opportunity to have this piece of equipment fitted outside the club.

“It is a small addition that has the potential to make a large difference in our community.”
The club will also receive support from members at Mirfield Cricket Club who will be on hand to serve some pints whilst Little Duck Mirfield have also sponsored a barrel.
Sarah added: “It is community spirit at its best with two other clubs in Mirfield supporting our event.
“We’re planning on this beer festival being our biggest and best yet. It will be a huge celebration for what has been our best year ever having been crowned Yorkshire CAMRA Club of the Year 2026.
“We are hoping everyone keeps everything crossed for the nationals for us down in Leicester at the end of November.”
Everybody is welcome. No membership is required and no glass purchase is required also. There also isn’t an entry fee.
