Huddersfield Giants announce stadium sponsor for new home at Dewsbury Rams

Huddersfield Giants will be playing their home games at the newly-named Autex Acoustics Arena in Dewsbury next season.

The agreement at the stadium, also the home of Dewsbury Rams, marks an “exciting new chapter” for the Giants who announced the relocation of the club to North Kirklees earlier this year.

Part of the internationally recognised, family-owned Autex Group, established in New Zealand in 1967, Autex Acoustics, whose headquarters are in Elland, is a leading manufacturer of innovative and sustainable acoustic solutions.

The Autex Group owns the New Zealand Warriors, one of the leading clubs in the Australian National Rugby League competition

For Autex Acoustics UK managing director, Simon Senior, who was born and raised in Huddersfield, the agreement is particularly special.

Simon said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to make this happen. We have supported the Giants for a number of years now, and when the opportunity came along to be part of the new stadium, it just felt like the right thing to do.

“For me personally, it means a great deal. I am Huddersfield born and bred, and having grown up around Rugby League, I know just how much the sport and the Giants mean to the local community.

“We have built a fantastic business here in West Yorkshire over the past ten years, and although we are part of an international group, we are incredibly proud of our Yorkshire roots.

“Rugby League is also a big part of the wider Autex family through our ownership of the New Zealand Warriors, so it is great to strengthen that connection between the sport in both hemispheres.

“I genuinely believe this is an exciting new chapter for the Giants. I have been impressed with the progress already made at the stadium, and with the influence Jim Lenihan is having on the team, there is a real sense of optimism about the future.

“We do not just want our name on the building. We want to be part of the journey and help create something that the club, its supporters and the wider community can be proud of.

“It is an exciting time for everyone involved, and I cannot wait to see it all come to life.”

Development work on the stadium has already started, with the terracing painted in the Giants’ claret and gold colours.

Huddersfield Giants owner Ken Davy OBE added: “It is fantastic, and I am absolutely delighted to welcome Autex as our stadium naming rights partner. They are an international company, a great brand and a fantastic business to have supporting the Giants. I have known Simon for quite some time, and it was wonderful to welcome him to the Autex Acoustics Arena and show him around.

“It is incredibly important that we have the right people alongside us as we embark on this exciting new chapter. When you look around the stadium and see the developments and improvements already taking place, you can really appreciate what we are building here. Having Autex involved makes it even more special.

“Being at the stadium has made me even more excited about the new season. I always look forward to the start of every season, as I am sure all our supporters do, but I genuinely believe the atmosphere at our new home is going to be remarkable.

“There is a tremendous amount to look forward to, and I think our fans can expect plenty of fun, excitement and some fantastic occasions at the Autex Acoustics Arena.”

The partnership will see Autex Acoustics work alongside the Giants and their creative partners to develop the stadium’s branding and identity.
