Savile Town drug dealer jailed for 12 years

Police found Anver Valli, of Scarborough Street, Savile Town, at the home of Mohammed Rayaz in Textile Street, Dewsbury, when they carried out a search of the property in November 2011.

Inside they discovered 132 grammes of 88 per cent pure cocaine in the kitchen, while a bag of white powder used as a cutting agent was found on the floor.

There was more cocaine on the cooking hob, and in a jug they found 176 grammes of crack cocaine cooling.

Simon Kealey, prosecuting, told Leeds Crown Court other items for the manufacture, packaging and selling of Class A drugs were also recovered, including three sets of electronic scales and rolls of sandwich and freezer bags.

Imran Ravat, of Lodge Farm Close, Thornhill Lees, was arrested in one of the bedrooms with £1,065 cash in his pocket. Three keys recovered from him led police to an industrial unit at Headfield Mills, Savile Town, where 3.4 kgs of the cutting agent was found.

Mr Kealey said inquiries showed substantial quantities of drugs at high purity levels had been transported from Valli’s contacts in the Midlands to mix with other ingredients and bulk out for onward distribution in Yorkshire.

Judge James Spencer QC said there had to be substantial sentences for such brazen criminality.

Valli, 39, was convicted of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, conspiracy to handle and fraud.

Ravat and Rayaz, 29, were sentenced to two years and two years three months respectively for their role in the drugs conspiracy.
