Chris Firth Creative: Entrepreneur welcomes MP to new Birstall premises
An entrepreneur who works across the theatre, television and production industry has welcomed Spen Valley MP, Kim Leadbeater, to his new premises in Birstall.
Chris Firth, of Chris Firth Creative, shared his career journey with the MP - from stage crew at the Alhambra in Bradford to stage management for touring theatre groups, and now to establishing this business, which offers a range of creative services.
Established in 2025, Chris Firth Creative specialises in production management and consultancy for theatre and television productions, alongside the creation and delivery of displays for retail businesses and hotels.
Chris has built his business around bringing together practical production knowledge, management expertise and creative thinking to help clients deliver their projects.
Chris said: “It was great to welcome Kim to the workshop and show her some of the creative projects we are currently working on. It is great to be able to fly the flag for Spen Valley in the creative and entertainment industry.
“We have a lot of local talent in the area and being able to work on exciting and innovative projects throughout the country shows this to the wider industry.
“The business is growing and we want to keep working on exciting projects and starting next year, we are looking to develop specialist scenic workshops for budding creatives to get hands-on experience with scenic and set production.
“This will hopefully inspire the future generations and show that these roles are there, in the workplace, and can take you around the world!”
The visit also highlighted the contribution that independent businesses make to the local economy, bringing specialist skills and professional services to clients across different industries.
Kim said: “It was great to visit Chris and his team in Birstall and to hear more about his career and journey in setting up his own business.
“It is always encouraging to meet local entrepreneurs who are using their skills, experience and creativity to build a business and develop new opportunities, especially as Chris is a local lad, who lives and works in Spen Valley.
“I wish Chris every success in his business”
