Kirklees planning applications: Final details for new homes at former Batley Fire Station site among latest plans submitted to council

More than 50 planning applications have been submitted to Kirklees Council in the latest week.

Among those seeking planning approval are developers for 13 homes in Batley on the site of the old fire station, who have submitted the final applications – 10 years after the project began.

Developers Riva Homes put themselves forward for the former station on Carlinghow Lane in 2016. The latest update on the planning portal concerns the council’s final checks on the sign-off of a validation report.

Before Riva Homes could build the new homes, the council required them to carry out a ground clean-up. The report serves as final written proof that the developers have completed all necessary tests to ensure the land is safe for the 13 new families.
