Police renew appeal after teenager hit by car in Tingley

Police are re-appealing for witnesses an accident, which has left a teenager in a serious condition in hospital, particularly about repair work to the car involved.

The collision happened at 12.15am on Friday, March 29 on Dewsbury Road, Tingley when a Nissan Micra was in collision with a 17 year old man on the nearside of the Dewsbury bound carriageway.

The Micra, which was travelling from Leeds towards Dewsbury, initially stopped but then left the scene, leaving the victim with serious injuries.

The injured man, from Middleton, is in a serious but stable condition in LGI.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the collision, or a blue Nissan Micra before or after the collision.

Officers know that the car’s headlights were replaced sometime between Friday, March 29 and Sunday, March 31 somewhere in the West Yorkshire area and will have been second-hand or pre-used.
