Time has flown since I joined the Thespians for their centenary show – and now, in a whirlwind of spangly costumes and fast-paced rehearsals, we’re preparing to take to the stage at Batley Town Hall.

Next week I’ll be all dressed up and raring to go for four nights of sensational songs from the West End and Broadway in The Magic of Musicals.

We’ve got the Blues Brothers, the Blood Brothers, the Jersey Boys and even Buddy Holly in the line-up – as well as Disney classics, the fabulous ladies of the Moulin Rouge and Fagin’s gang of street urchins.

And I’m using my appearance on stage next week to boost the Reporter Series Fund, which supports Kirkwood Hospice, the Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice, One Community and Asthma UK.

Collection buckets will be available pre-show and during the interval so please give generously. The Magic of Musicals runs Wednesday-Saturday at 7.15pm. Tickets cost £12 (£10 concessions) and are available from the town hall box office.
