Two Girls, One Vision: Podcast launch, training academy regulated and more award nominations for Batley beauty business Kamaya
This hair and beauty business and training academy in Batley is going from strength to strength.
Award-winning aesthetics, beauty and training salon Kamaya, which only originated six years ago, has been nominated for four prizes at this year’s British Hair and Beauty Awards.

The business could be named as the best entrepreneur of the year, the best training centre of excellence, the salon with the best customer service, as well as the top rated salon of the year.
The recognition follows from being named in the top 100, out of 1,000 entries, at the 2026 UK Hair and Beauty Awards.
The thriving business, started by best friends Khadijah Hussain and Sumaiyah Aqib during COVID, has now also become a regulated training academy meaning it is now a recognised education centre, with students flying in from France and Scotland to hone their skills.
Sumaiyah: “To be a regulated academy was definitely something on our list but we didn’t feel we would achieve it this soon. We have upscaled ourselves, put ourselves on more courses, and got our staff on more courses, as we want to help people in the right way.
“We have hit a target of over 500 students in the last five years which has been a massive achievement for us. Students are coming from all over so word is getting out there. We are also looking at being an apprenticeship centre so that we will be able to offer apprenticeship training.”
She added: “The award nominations are always great and a massive achievement as well.”

The duo are also set to release their very own podcast after amassing a “huge following on Snapchat.”
Two Girls, One Vision will give viewers and listeners an insight into business, as well as to inspire others.
“People seem to love seeing how we are and what we’re up to,” Sumaiyah said. “We are just ourselves and we will hope to bring a lot of positiveness in, especially in the Asian community, to show people what you can do and to show the younger generation there are so many opportunities for them.
“We will be talking about beauty, how to get into business, how aesthetics work and about our lives and how we got into it.
“There will be a lot of positive energy and we hope people watch and hear our story to see how far we have got, and hopefully we can inspire people to do the same.”
