Two more players sign on again with Batley Bulldogs for 2027 season

Batley Bulldogs head coach James Ford is delighted to have experienced forward Nyle Flynn in his squad again for the 2027 Championship season.

The 29-year-old has extended his stay with the Bulldogs for another season and will take to the field in a Batley shirt for his sixth year in 2027.

Since joining the club in 2021, Dewsbury-born Flynn has made 139 appearances, starting 61 times, and crossed for 18 tries.

A true mainstay of the squad, the prop or back rower has cemented himself in the Batley culture and fans will be pleased the popular player is not going anywhere else.

The club have thanked Batley Independent Away Travel for their continued sponsorship of Nyle while head coach Ford has outlined why he sees the player as an important member of his first team squad.

He said: “Nyle had a very strong season last year, mostly in the back row, but also featuring in the middle.

"I’m sure everyone was impressed with his strength of carry, ability to win ruck speed and his timing on the edge.

"Nyle will face stiff competition for a place in our 17 this year and I’m confident that challenge will bring him to another level.”

Flynn started at Hunslet where he made 37 appearances after making his debut in 2017.

He played five games for Dewsbury Rams in 2019 before moving to Batley.

Exciting young half-back Mitch Beedle has joined Flynn in also re-signing for the 2027 campaign.

Since moving from Castleford Tigers in May, he has made an immediate impact with his explosive speed and sharp, instinctive playmaking catching the eye.

"Delighted to get another quality player signed on,” said Ford. “It highlights what we think of Mitch and the direction we are looking to go in.

"Mitch has impressed us all with his drive and ambition and these qualities coupled with his run threat will give him a great opportunity to continue to improve and challenge our starting six and seven for a spot in our 13.”
