Large amounts of drugs seized in police raid on business premises in Dewsbury
Large quantities of nitrous oxide have been seized in a police operation to combat drugs supply in Dewsbury.
Enquiries remain ongoing following the execution of a warrant at a shop on Huddersfield Road by officers investigating the supply of illegal drugs in Ravensthorpe.
Police forced entry to the building on Wednesday morning (October 21) and recovered six boxes of suspected steroids and illegal cigarettes and vapes valued at around £2,000.
Fifty-nine nitrous oxide cannisters worth over £1,000 were recovered from the premises, including some from a parked car.

Specialist officers using advanced methods of entry, and a West Yorkshire Police drugs dog and handler also took part in the operation.
Officers executed the warrant as part of a programme of work by police and partners to reduce crime in the Ravensthorpe area.
Inspector Amanda Holroyd, of Kirklees Police, said: “Today's warrant has seen us seize significant amounts of nitrous oxide as well as suspected steroids.
“The illegal supply of drugs and the associated violent crime it so often brings is a blight on communities and tackling this kind of offending is a real priority for us in Ravensthorpe.

“As with all drugs, we know the abuse of nitrous oxide can carry serious and potentially fatal health risks, and it is important we continue to work to stop its illegal use in our communities.
“Anyone who has information about any form of drug crime in Ravensthorpe is encouraged to report it to Kirklees Police or anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.”
