Batley supermarket managing director up for prestigious Asian Trader award
A managing director at a Batley supermarket has been named as a finalist at the prestigious Asian Trader Awards.
Hamza Hussain, who is MD at Abu Bakr Supermarkets in the town, has been shortlisted in the Next Gen award category, a field recognising the upcoming talent shaping the UK convenience retail industry.
The nomination adds to an impressive run of recognition for the young West Yorkshire business leader, following his recent success in the 30 Under 30 awards which celebrates young talent making an impact across the industry.
Hamza said: “Being named a finalist for the Next Gen Award is a real honour, especially after the recent 30 Under 30 recognition. I see this as a reflection of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes every day at Abu Bakr Supermarkets.

The Asian Trader Awards bring together retailers, suppliers and industry leaders to celebrate achievement and innovation across the sector.
The winners will be announced on November 4 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London, where industry figures will gather for the annual ceremony.
