Brilliant Liversedge FC table toppers hit Albion for six
Table topping Liversedge FC came up with a strong finish as they hit the goal trail again in the Macron NCE Premier Division.
Danny Forrest’s men followed up a 4-1 success against Penistone Church with a 6-1 win at Albion Sports to stay eight points clear of closest challengers Beverley Town with a game in hand on them.
They shared the goals around with five different scorers and really put their foot down in the closing 20 minutes when they came up with four of the goals.
It was a potential banana skin game with Albion in the bottom three, but Sedge started well and were ahead inside six minutes with Kelan Swales netting to settle any nerves.

The home team did well to stay in the game up to half-time with the score staying 1-0 at the break.
But it took Liversedge just three minutes of the second half to add to their lead when George Green found the back of the net.
Finn Donovan scored the crucial third goal to effectively seal the points 20 minutes from time and the floodgates then opened.
Lewis Barlow made it four and after Niall Heaton responded for the hosts James Clark weighed in with two late goals to round off an emphatic victory.
On the bench for Liversedge was new signing Sam Bentley, who has arrived on a loan deal from Guiseley AFC.
“I’m really happy to secure Sam for a month and a big thanks for Guiseley AFC for allowing this to happen,” said manager Forrest.
"He’ll really help the squad for the run-in and bring some quality on the pitch. He’s physically strong, has lots of ability and can play numerous positions.
"He’s a young and hungry player and I’m sure it’ll prove to be a positive move all round.”
Liversedge are due to play at Sheffield tonight (Tuesday), but there is a pitch inspection at 4.30pm.
They are away again this Saturday when they travel to play-off contenders Pickering Town.
In a hectic period a home game with mid-table Frickley Athletic also takes place next Tuesday.
