Liversedge FC back to best with big win ahead of away day testers
After passing just about every test thrown at them so far this season Liversedge FC now face another big challenge with three away games in a week.
Danny Forrest’s NCE League leaders travel to Albion Sports on Saturday then go to Sheffield next Tuesday and are away to Pickering Town the following Saturday,
Each of the matches will represent a challenge with Sheffield in the play-off places in the Premier Division, Pickering aiming to climb into the top five and Albion scrapping to avoid relegation after dropping to third from bottom.
But Liversedge go into their away tests buoyed by an excellent win and return to their best attacking form in their latest league game against Penistone Church at the Meat Drunkery Clayborn Stadium.

After some close contests in recent weeks it was much more comfortable viewing for fans as Sedge waltzed into a three-goal lead in the first half and went on to win 4-1.
After the pitch passed a morning inspection it was straight down to football for the hosts who were simply too good for their mid-table opponents in the opening half.
Finn Donovan sent them on the way with a calm volleyed finish for the opening goal after 16 minutes and the early domination was rewarded further when Alex Wollerton doubled the advantage eight minutes later following up after the keeper had saved Alfie Dean’s initial effort.
Antony Brown was also on target with a header to make it 3-0 and Sedge looked in complete control at the break.
They could even afford to have missed out with a penalty after Brown’s spot kick was saved by Harry Ambler, who made several fine stops during the game to keep the score down.
The second half was more evenly contested with the visitors pulling a goal back after being awarded a penalty that Nathan Keightley put away 18 minutes from time.
Church gave it a go in the closing stages, but were caught on the break late on as George Green struck from the edge of the box.
