That’s according to Brookhouse Training, who had its work praised during a recent visit by gas industry officials.

The training company, based in Cleckheaton, impressed Barry Sheerman MP, co-chairman for the All Party Parliamentary Carbon Monoxide Group and Chris Bielby MBE, president of the Association of Gas Safety Managers.

The pair enjoyed a tour of the firm’s training centre and learned about its managed learning programmes and measures Brookhouse claim give their trainees a head-start in the job market.

Brookhouse Training offers gas and plumbing training and in-house practical learning and assessment.

Mr Sheerman said Brookhouse took competency and safety very seriously when it came to its gas training.

He said: “The company’s training is exemplary and a real eye opener to the good work that this stand-out company does; it comes as no surprise to me that the majority of their trainees secure employment after course completion.”

Mr Bielby said: “I have spent the best part of 25 years campaigning and lobbying for improved safety within the gas industry. “With safety comes knowledge and understanding and it was a pleasure for me to hear and see Brookhouse Training maintaining those high-standards needed to ensure our sector remains safe and trusted.”

Brookhouse Training’s director James McConnell said: “Our aim is to provide the gas industry with a highly skilled and capable workforce.

“We take competency and safety really seriously in our training and this has paid dividends for our students as well as our business.”
