Hide AdPaynter joined Leeds from Swindon two years ago, but after several injury problems has endured a difficult time with the Elland Road club, playing in only 28 games, including just 11 starts, and scoring only three goals.
He was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season after manager Neil Warnock revealed he was not part of his first team plans.
His departure leaves possible room for another striker at Elland Road, although with finances tight in the light of the ongoing takeover saga United are hoping to also offload several other transfer listed players to raise further money.
Warnock is hoping to seal the permanent signature of El Hadji Diouf this week after he played for the club against Shrewsbury last Saturday on non-contract terms.
