Dewsbury Rams wait and see after Knights keep place
The Knights finished the 2011 season in a relegation spot but were reprieved by the RFL Board of Directors’ decision on Friday to turn down an application from Crusaders to join the Championship in 2012.
Crusaders have been given 14 days to submit an application to play in Co-operative Championship One next season.
That decision helps Dewsbury, who finished the season second-bottom, in their quest for a reprieve from relegation.
However, they are still left waiting on the outcome of an RFL investigation into a series of breaches of rules Barrow are alleged to have made over a four-year period between 2007 and 2011. The investigation has been ongoing for over two months and if Barrow are found guilty, could face an unlimited fine or points deduction.
Barrow have already been docked six points for offences earlier this season, so relegation could be a possibility.
