Rev your engines!

THE rain may have been lashing down but that didn’t stop car and motorbike fans turning out for Big D’s Ink, Iron and Hotrod show on Sunday.

The event at the Frontier attracted hundreds of enthusiasts from miles around who turned up to see the custom-made motorcycles and Hot Rods and enjoy the entertainment inside and outside the Bradford Road club.

It was put together by the Calder Valley chapter of the Satans Slaves Motorcycle Club in collaboration with the Originals Hot Rod club.

As well as the displays of classic and custom cars and bikes, there was also entertainment from live bands and dancers, top tattoo artists at work and trade stands and refreshments.

Satan’s Slaves club president Darren ‘Big D’ Fawthrop said: “It was fabulous. By 11am the Frontier car park was full so we had to get a JCB to come so we could clear out the car park over the bridge behind the Frontier and use that.

“Frontier staff said they’d never known it to be so busy.

“We did get a lot of visitors, despite the rain, but I would say the rain did cost us between three and four hundred bikes as a lot of them planned to come on their way home from bike rallies, but of course when it started raining heavily they’ll have gone straight home.

“All the feedback we had was really good and we’re looking forward to putting on something even bigger and better next year.”
