Parties should work together on Mirfield station access
Coun Bolt’s politicking on the issue of disabled access to the eastbound platform at Mirfield Station is wearisomely familiar.
I for one was unaware of his alleged efforts to tackle this issue in the past but they have been palpably unsuccessful.
Rather than political sniping, Coun Bolt would better serve the interests of the disabled and less mobile residents of Mirfield by supporting the laudable efforts of the Mirfield Labour Party and Michael Hutchinson in highlighting the problem and securing the high profile support of Mary Creagh the Shadow Transport Secretary in bringing pressure to bear to get some much needed action.
Such a non-partisan approach from the councillor would indeed by a “Bolt from the blue.”
