Netting charity cash

A GARDEN centre is raising money for one of its neighbours, to help some of the area’s most vulnerable people.

Whiteleys Garden Centre, in Far Common Road, Mirfield, has been charging customers 50p to have Chrismas trees netted, with all money raised going towards Hollybank Trust.

Trust fundraiser Dayne Sawyer said: “For the past few years, our neighbour Whiteleys Garden Centre and their generous customers have kindly supported Hollybank Trust by donating the tree netting money.

“Last year, this amounted to an amazing £940 and it would be wonderful to have something near that again this year. We are so grateful to Whiteleys and their customers who are big supporters of the work we do at Hollybank Trust.

“All the money they raise will go towards improving the quality of life we can give our profoundly disabled children, young people and adults.”

Whiteleys general manager Neil Redford said: “We have a good relationship with the Hollybank Trust and we are all about the local community. We try and help local charities raise as much as we can with whatever we can do.”
