Batley Vintage Day, organised by Batley Business Association (BBA), will feature live entertainment, cooking workshops, sports and a market across the market place and memorial gardens.

The organisers have also secured a Spitfire flyover for the event, subject to weather conditions.

BBA chairman Andrew Marsden said: “It is certainly all systems go at Vintage Day HQ. As we get closer, the planning and organising is still going on but I am pleased to say that everything is going well.”

The event is supported by the Batley, Birstall and Birkenshaw Area Committee, who allocated £11,915 of their budget for the vintage fair.

And Mr Marsden said they hope to build on the success of Batley Festival and expect a big turn out on the day.

He said: “We hope that people will come along to experience something that Batley has never seen before.

“We have something for everybody, from music from all across the decades, to vintage vehicles for people to admire and a host of specialist vintage stalls in the market place.”
