Nelson’s Comedy Club: New comedy club set to be launched out of popular Birstall venue
A popular Birstall venue - which has welcomed Lucy Beaumont and Lost Voice Guy - is partnering with a local comedian and promoter to launch a new comedy club later this month.
Graeme Rayner, the owner of Gag N Bone Man Comedy, and 1931 in Birstall, launches Nelson’s Comedy Club on Friday, November 28 at 7.30pm, before hosting monthly professional comedy nights as well as monthly free entry nights featuring new comedians finding their feet in the industry.

Previous performers at 1931, on Nelson Street, include Lucy Beaumont, the recent star of Celebrity Traitors, and Lost Voice Guy, the 2018 Britain’s Got Talent winner.
Graeme said: “We’re thrilled to cement our partnership with Lisa and Jamie at 1931. We’ve been working together since 1931 opened last year and we really wanted to give the comedy shows there their own identity.
“The nights are great value for money with tickets at just £10, and comedy lovers can become members and save 10 per cent on drinks at all shows too.”
The first show under the Nelson’s banner will be hosted by Graeme, who recently reached the final of the Halifax Comedian of the Year competition, and features the BAFTA award-winning Meryl O’Rourke and musical comedian Stevie Gray.
Tickets can be purchased at nelsonscomedyclub.com and the discount code ‘News’ saves 20 per cent on all tickets for the show.
