Motorcyclist dies after crash in Batley

The man in his 20s was riding a Honda motorbike which crashed with a grey BMW 530 at the junction of Bradford Road and Mount Street just after midnight.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene but was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

Sgt Ann Drury, of West Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who has either witnessed the collision itself or the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the collision.

“Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101.”
