Festival hits ale-time high
Around 2,500 visitors called in to Dewsbury Town Hall over three days to enjoy a wide range of local and international brews alongside nightly musical entertainment.
Hosted by the Heavy Woollen branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), this year’s festival featured a bar of nautical themed ales and raised funds for the RNLI.

Hide AdFestival chairman Alan Mapplebeck said: “It was another massive success. All the entertainment was fantastic and it was absolutely buzzing. Everybody was saying it was one of the friendliest festivals they’ve been to.
“Ale spotters from all over the country came and we had young people coming later on for the entertainment. This branch is particularly trying to get more young and female members so it was great to see lots of them drinking the cider, perry and real ales.”
The festival will return next year.
