But there are only a few days left to make those final nominations and make sure your top teachers, neighbours, health workers and others get the recognition they deserve.

Today, we’re running the nomination form for the last time - click on the link on the right to open it.

We’re also extending the deadline to 5pm on Monday September 27 to make sure we don’t miss any last minute entries.

The awards, sponsored by Kirklees Council, NHS Kirklees and West Yorkshire Police, are a chance to celebrate the people whose hard work, commitment and generosity makes others’ lives better.

Once all the nominations are in, we’ll be inviting you, our readers, to vote for your favourites in four categories.

Meanwhile, Reporter Series editor Hannah Ridgeway will be joined by a panel of judges to choose the four other deserving winners.

The awards will culminate in a ceremony at Dewsbury Town Hall on Tuesday December 7.

Chf Supt John Robins, divisional commander of Kirklees Police, who will be one of the judges, said: “Week in, week out, residents in the north of Kirklees do fantastic things for their communities yet rarely get recognised or rewarded for the work they do.
