Dewsbury Library to close for a fortnight

Dewsbury Library and Information Centre will close from Monday March 3 for two weeks.

New self-issue and return machines will be installed, a visitor information area will be created and work completed on walls damaged during the winter.

Coun Shabir Pandor, Kirklees Cabinet member for Libraries, said: “The self service machines will free up staff to work with the public elsewhere in the library such as offering more support with IT, and the recently-established ‘knit and natter’ group on Thursdays.”

During the closure people will be able to use other Kirklees libraries, and the mobile library which will be outside Dewsbury Town Hall from March 3 to 7, then March 11 to 13 from 10am until 4pm. It will re-open on Monday March 17.
