Batley man killed in motorcycle crash

A 25-YEAR-OLD Batley man died after his motorcycle collided with a lorry.

The motorcyclist was travelling towards Grassington on the B6265 Hebden Road on Saturday at around 9.20am when he collided with a white HGV travelling in the opposite direction.

The crash occurred near a house known locally as Halfway House.

The 25-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver was unharmed.

The road was closed until 2pm while investigators examined the scene and the vehicles were recovered.

Police are asking witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the accident to come forward.
