Littletown hold firm to clinch points after Lightowler strikes

Littletown FC put more distance between themselves and the relegation zone in the Premier Division of the West Yorkshire League with a hard fought victory at home to Silsden Whitestar.

A pressure game against the team at the bottom of the division saw Littletown take the lead through Scott Lightowler in the opening half and hold onto the advantage to the final whistle for a 1-0 victory.

Silsden belied their lowly position as they kept pushing for an equaliser, but the Littletown defence held firm, with goalkeeper Logan Jackson taking the man of the match after making a string of key saves.

The result left them in 11th place and now within six points of the top six in the division.
