Santa trail with free Christmas presents returns to Dewsbury and Batley
Santa will be giving out free gifts at locations across Dewsbury and Batley tomorrow night (December 18), as a local charity gets into the festive spirit.
Founded by Coun Tanisha Bramwell (Independent, Dewsbury West), Bramwell’s Hope CIO is bringing its Santa Trail back for a second year.
The free community Christmas event will see Santa travel to five locations in Dewsbury and Batley, meeting children along the way and handing out free presents.
The event is designed to ensure that families who may be struggling this Christmas can still enjoy a memorable festive moment within their own communities.

The trail will begin from 7.30pm, with Santa making his first stop at Moorside End at the bottom of Moorside Estate, Dewsbury Moor, before stopping at Westborough Club car park, Unity Court in Westtown, Chickenley Lane outside Chickenley Shops, and finishing at Carlinghow in Batley.
The charity, which works year round to support local families through food provision, emergency support, youth activities, and community projects across Kirklees and surrounding areas, says the event is one of its most anticipated Christmas initiatives.
A spokesperson said: “This is our second year running the Santa Trail and it is one of the most special things we do. For many families, Christmas is incredibly tough. This event is about bringing something positive directly into neighbourhoods and making sure no child feels forgotten.”
The event is free to attend, with safety stewards in place along the route. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, and families are asked to remain on pavements and follow steward guidance due to nearby traffic.
The Santa Trail is delivered entirely by volunteers and supported by community donations.
