Cud: Festival appearance.

Leeds’ indie favourites Cud are set to make a rare festival appearance this month.

The fabled four-piece have been included in the line-up for the Main Stage at the Gigantic Indie All Dayer, which takes place at Manchester Academy on Saturday, May 28.

The event brings together a host of indie favourites from years gone by on three stages and is headlined by The Wonder Stuff, with support from House Of Love, Jesus Jones, The Darling Buds, The Frank & Walters, SMASH, Bentley Rhythm Ace, BMX Bandits, Back To The Planet, Credit To The Nation and more to be added.

Cud, whose biggest hits ‘Rich & Strange’ and ‘Purple Love Balloon’ came in 1992, will be turning back the years with their tune friendly songs on the main stage.

They were formed in Leeds in 1987 and following hugely successful releases on Strange Fruit and the Wedding Present’s Reception Records the band conscripted a veritable army of fans. Spurred on to greater things by the highly influential John Peel, the group then made the leap to A&M Records in 1991 and achieved a top 30 album with their seminal album Asquarius.

Doors open at 1.30pm for the Gigantic Indie All Dayer Vol.3 with tickets priced at £29 and available from and all the usual online ticket retailers.
