Young Sharks kick-off French exchange trip

A group of young rugby players from Shaw Cross Sharks embarked an their annual French exchange trip last Saturday.

Players from the club’s Under-14 and Under-15 teams travelled to Villenueve-Sur -Lot and Tonniens, where they will be hosted by local French families and have an action packed week of activities to look forward to.

Both teams played against French side Tonniens on Monday and will meet Villenueve tomorrow (Friday) with both cultural visits and leisure activities planned by their hosts.

The youngsters will take part in canoeing and mounting biking, while they will also be guests at a civic reception.

The party are led by Alan Smith and Tracy Grimwood with coaches, Paul Sutcliffe, Jacob Price and Daz Lister looking after the players.

This is the 47th consecutive year this exchange has taken place and almost 2,000 youngsters have participated to date.
