Yarnold bags hat-trick for Wellington – Ravensthorpe turn on style

TOM Yarnold bagged a hat-trick as Wellington defeated George Healey 5-1 in the Spen Valley League Premier Division last Saturday.

Joe Parry struck with a first-half goal for George but they trailed 2-1 at half-time and Wellington went on to complete victory with Jordan Ledgard and Lee Speight also on target.

Ravensthorpe Rangers produced an impressive first half display as they led Quarry 6-0 before going on to complete an 8-1 victory.

Luke Newsome struck Quarry’s consolation but Ravensthorpe took the points as Fessy (four), Zeh, Atif, Mamadan and an own goal made up their tally.

S Pandor hit a consolation goal for Youth 2000 as they went down 4-1 at FC Bosnia.

Thornhill lost 5-4 at home to Bradford in a keenly-fought contest which saw two red and two yellow cards but was excellently controlled by referee Paul Secker.

Aiden Wood (two), Sean Hodgson and Tom Hirst were on target for Thornhill, who led 2-1 at half-time, but it wasn’t enough as Bradford took all three points thanks to goals from Andrew Royston, Gurdip Bhambra, Wayne Broxhome, Iftaq Hussain and Gurpal Bhambra.

The game between TVR United and Oakwell was abandoned at half-time owing to the ground conditions.

Marsh ran out 4-0 winners over ALC. Jamel Jawadi scored a brace and also missed a penalty while James Shingleton and Johnny Asquith were also on target.

Norfolk bounced back from the previous week’s defeat to Oakwell Reserves by beating the same opposition 3-1. Z Khan bagged a brace, while R Khan was also on target.

R McCann struck for Oakwell, who went into the break level at 1-1.

Fairbank defeated Inter Batley 5-0, having led 4-0 at half-time.

Faisal Shabbir struck a brace, while Hassan Ellahi, Nazhar Iqbal, Adil Shazzad and Trian Khan were also on target.

BD3 United defeated Savile Town Athletic 9-0 as Shummeell Uddin struck a hat-trick, substitute Syeed Hussain bagged a brace, with further goals coming from Talat Mahood, Arkadiusz Sonies, Faisal Hussain and Amen Yadden.

Stithy went down 3-2 to West Bradford Spartans after the sides were level 1-1 at half-time.

Phil Holmes, David Cowey and Chris Goodchild were on target for the winners.

Howden Clough’s trip to Queensbury was postponed following heavy rain.
