Williams shines for leaders Lees

THORNHILL Lees increased their lead at the top of the Heavy Woollen Sunday League Premier Division to five points following a 7-2 win over AFC Chickenley.

Elliott Williams grabbed a hat-trick for Lees, who also had Scott Hargreaves (two), Aiden Schofield and Steve Brook on target. Shaun McDaid and Tim Clarke netted for the visitors.

Towngate climbed to third after Lee Maturine (brace), John Flynn, Steve Richards Josh Cooke and Danny Facey struck in a 6-3 win at Littletown, who replied through Lee McKeown (two) and Andy Asquith.

Woodman Batley Carr picked up their first win, 4-3 over Birkenshaw. Andrew Pickles (two), Alex Pickles and Daniel Peace netted for Woodman, with Tom Ormondroyd, Marc Trapps and Michael Smith replying.

FC Pack Horse earned their first points, beating Battyeford 5-4. Jason Jeffrey (brace), Sam Buswell, Marcus Newby and Jonathan Irving struck for Pack, with Bobby Evans (two), Jason Evans and Lamin Bojang replying.

Oakwell Motel are top of the Championship on goal difference despite losing 4-1 at Overthorpe Sports Club.

Danny Wilson opened the scoring for Oakwell but Overthorpe hit back through Andy Bates (two), Gareth Marshall and an Andy Godding penalty.

Tom Wilks and Michael Rounding scored as Mirfield Town beat Taylor 2-1.

Gomersal beat bottom side Scholes Athletic (Karl Ellis) 15-1. Andy Kaye led the way with five goals, Joe Swanson hit a hat-trick, Joel Pollard a brace with Joshua Smith, Jack Newsome, Jimmy Heddon, Matthew Blackburn and an own goal completing the tally.

Sean Addy grabbed a hat-trick and Tom Addy one as Hartshead won 4-3 at Birstall St Patricks (Matthew Glynn and Phil Clark).

Northorpe United boast a 100 per cent record in Division One following a 5-1 win at Barr Street.
