Wheatley final for Littletown

LITTLETOWN reached the Heavy Woollen FA Wheatley Cup final after a tight tussle with Old Bank WMC last Thursday.

After a goalless first half at Liversedge FC, West Riding County Amateur League Littletown’s pressure finally paid off as Aidan Schofield scored after 70 minutes.

Wakefield League Old Bank battled hard but Littletown held on to win 1-0.

The final is at Ossett Town on May 3 when Littletown will face Tingley Athletic or Wyke Wanderers who meet in the second semi-final at Ossett Albion next Thursday (April 12).

n Dewsbury Rangers recorded a second straight win in the Wakefield League Premier Division but it will not be enough to help them climb out of the bottom two.

Back-to-back wins have seen Rangers draw level on seven points with second-bottom Battyeford Wasps.

Rob Smith bagged a brace, while Craig Thomas also struck as Rangers defeated Garforth WMC 3-2 last Saturday.

Battyeford, who have four games left, face a crunch game at third-bottom Thornhill on Saturday when defeat will condemn the Wasps to a bottom two finish.

Battyeford lost 3-2 at Walton last Saturday and are seven points behind Thornhill who have five games remaining.
