Sykes is regarded as the nice guy of British boxing and while Frank Warren’s huge show is being promoted as Bad Blood, the Dewsbury man admits he has no intention of insulting Walsh.

Sykes was interviewed by boxing pundit Steve Bunce on Tuesday as part of Box Nation TV’s preparations to build up the British and Commonwealth super featherweight clash at London’s Excel Arena.

Sykes said: “It’s not in my nature to throw insults around, I’ll leave that kind of thing to others.

“The ExCel is the right stage for this fight, a big all-British card with big rivalries all to be settled on the night.

“I’ve just won this British title so there is no way that it’s leaving me in my first defence. Walsh is the one big rival I haven’t faced yet and we can now finally find out who is the best.

Dereck Chisora tops the bill in his huge heavyweight clash with Tyson Fury, while bitter rivals Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Junior go head to head.

Sykes added: “Chisora v Fury and Saunders v Eubank Jnr will take some beating, but I guarantee it will be an all-out war between me and Walsh.”

Sykes is to receive an initial batch of 80 £50 tickets for the fight, with more available if needed, and he is expected to take a big Dewsbury following to the capital for one of the biggest shows this year.

Supporters should contact @GarySykesBoxer on Twitter or via his Facebook page and Sykes is also able get hold of more expensive tickets for fans wanting to sit ringside.

A coach will be running from the local area, priced £30, and can be booked by contacting James on 07890 610184.
