Swim club’s stunning triumphs

SWIMMERS from the Borough of Kirklees club put in some stunning performances in the Yorkshire Championships in Leeds and Sheffield.

In total the talented group of nine to 16-year-olds won 19 gold, 18 silver and 29 bronze individual medals with the majority of the squad finishing in the top 10.

Five individual golds were won by both Ryan Flanagan and Harmonie Waterman while Daniel Cross won three golds. Emily Robinson and Holly Brook won two golds and both girls achieved National qualifying times.

There were also golds won by Regan Gregg, Isobel Martin, James Matthews and Eden Warburton.

The teams celebrated with two gold, three silver and six bronze medals. It was a double success for the girls 9/10 years medley and freestyle team where Isobel Martin, Keelan Fitton, Abigail Fisher, Rianne Barlow and Eden Warburton were untouchable.

The club continues to train hard for the North East County Championships in June and the Nationals in August.
