Superb fight-back in vain for Sedge
Ben Grech-Brooksbank gave Liversedge a second minute lead but that was shortlived as former Clayborn favourite Asif Hussain levelled from the penalty spot.
That kick-started an excellent spell for Albion as they scored five goals in 28 minutes to leave the home side shellshocked.
Daniel Facey put Albion ahead with a 17th minute goal and after former Huddersfield Town man Delroy Facey made it 3-1, Daniel bagged his second.
Thomas Dugdale bagged a fifth goal for Albion and Liversedge were starring at a heavy defeat.
However, after a stern talking to by joint caretaker managers Dave Thompson and James Riordan, Sedge came out for the second half fired up and produced a super fightback, which almost stunned Albion.
Gibril Bojang pulled a goal back after 67 minutes and Wes Milnes netted to set up a frantic finale.
Grech-Brooksbank added his second in the 90th minute to make it 5-4 but Sedge just ran out of time.
Liversedge also bowed out of the West Riding County Cup on Tuesday, losing 3-2 to Selby Town at Clayborn.
Grech-Brooksbank continued his superb form with an eighth goal in as many matches as he turned in the area and slotted into the bottom corner of the net to put Liversedge ahead after just four minutes.
Gibril Bojang doubled the advantage after 10 minutes when he lobbed the goalkeeper Kelsey as Sedge’s bright start continued.
Selby managed to pull a goal back in the 28th minute, with Nathan Kamara scoring following a corner and it remained 2-1 until the latter stages.
Jason Price equalised with an 81st goal and with extra time looming, Price bagged Selby’s winner three minutes from full-time as Liversedge bowed out.

Sohail Fiaz and Hasnain Naveed scored as Route 1 Rovers won 2-1 at Fairbank (Shoaib Hussain) in the Premier Division, where West Park United drew 1-1 with East Bowling All Stars.
