Shaw Cross book will celebrate 70th anniversary

Shaw Cross Sharks have comissioned a book to bring the history of the club up to date and help celebrate their 70th anniversary.

The club have had two previous books published which cover the periods from 1947 to the mid 1980s but this latest book will incorporate the whole history from 1947-2017.

It will be written by London League Publications and the aim is to have it ready by late Autumn this year.

With this deadline in mind the club are appealing for former players coaches and members to contribute and are looking for memories, stories and photographs which may be included.

The Shaw Cross club are keen to hear from anyone who has material that might be of interest or would like to offer a memory from the past.

The club are also planning events to mark the 70th anniversary including a celebration dinner which will be announced shortly.

The Sharks are also organising a trip to the Super League Grand Final for all their junior players with other events in the pipeline .

n Shaw Cross Sharks opening game in National Conference Division One, away to Featherstone Lions was postponed last weekend.

They now begin with a home game against east Leeds on Saturday.

Dewsbury Celtic slipped to an 18-10 defeat at home to Saddleworth Rangers in Division Two and they make the short trip to Thornhill Trojans for a tasty derby on Saturday.
