Sharks, Moor and Celtic suffer Conference defeats

Victory would have seen Moor draw level on points with Eastmoor in the race for a play-off spot and they seemed well set at half-time before the Dragons roared back after the break.

Thomas Kaye crossed for a brace of tries, while Jack Riding and James Eatherley also scored for Moor, with the latter landing two goals.

But it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat which leaves Moor sixth in the table as Michael Edwards, Nathan McVittie, Adrian Mulcahy, Daniel Johnson, Gregory Wilby and Jamie Creed all scored for Eastmoor.

Stand-off Mulcahy also landed four goals, with Jason Roberts kicking the other.

Moor travel to Waterhead Warriors on Saturday and end their regular campaign at home to leaders Crosfields on September 3.

Shaw Cross Sharks are three points outside the Division One play-off places following a 36-10 defeat at Skirlaugh last Saturday.

The Sharks battled hard against the high flying Humberside outfit but were unable to prevent defeat.

Stand off Carl Puckering led the way for the home side bagging a try and landing six goals.

Other tries came from Joshua Steward, Ashley Leeming, Thomas Harrison, Marvin Lee and Lewis Straw.

Thomas Stuckley and Thomas Rogers, with Will Gledhill landing a conversion.

The Sharks host play-0ff rivals Hunslet Warriors in a key game this Saturday.

Dewsbury Celtic remain just a point outside the Division Two relegation zone after they suffered a 52-10 defeat away to play-off chasing Bradford Dudley Hill.

Celtic trailed 22-0 at half-time but battled after the break and were rewarded with a try apiece from Richard Tillotson and Joshua West, with Tillotson also adding a goal.

But Dudley Hill proved too strong as they ran in 10 tries on their way to victory.

Damian Smith led the way with a hat-trick, while Simon Sewell scored a try and landed four goals.

Other Dudley Hill tries came from Aiden Batey, Martin Southwell, Neil Wall, Ryan Davidson, Andrew Walker and Daniel Samuel, while Wall and Liam Nevan added further goals.

Celtic travel to Wigan St Judes this Saturday.
