Sheraz Ali top scored with 42 as Scout Hill were bowled out for 172 but it proved enough to secure a 48-run triumph for the underdogs.

Imran Pandor led the Young Star bowling attack, claiming 3-30, while support came from Zubair Badat (2-20), Ismail Mayet (2-29) and Zubair Patel (2-35).

Uvaish Patel (42) and Ayaz Seedat (35) appeared to be guiding Young Star to victory but their innings faded away as they were dismissed for 124.

Mohammed Shakil claimed 3-25, Ali backed up his top score by taking 2-16, while Mohammed Iqbal chipped in with an economical spell of 2-9 and Tahir Raza collected 2-35 to seal Scout Hill’s win.

Dewsbury Young Star are left to concentrate on the Section A title as they hold a 10-point lead over Savile Town with six matches remaining.

A fine all-round team display saw Kashmir secure a 25-run victory over Dewsbury Elite in the Section B Cup final.

Qamar Aslam top scored with 39, while Nazabed Hussain (28), Arshad Jan (20) and Ali Imran (20) all chipped in but the Kashmir total of 167 all out appeared below par.

Impressive bowling from Khuram Akhtar (4-28) and Waseem (3-38) looked to have put promotion chasing Dewsbury Elite on course for victory.

Bilal Amed (32), Sajad Hussain (24) and Waseem (20) made good starts but Elite lacked a batsman to make a winning contribution as they were bowled out for 142.

Jan led the Kashmir revival with 4-28, while Aslam (2-16), Nazabed (2-19) and Munasab Hussain (2-25) also made telling contributions to secure Kashmir’s win.
