Runners’ Michael on the right track
Dewsbury Road Runners’ Michael Wood produced a fine display in the British Orienteering Championships at Wharncliffe, Wheata and Greno Woods, just north of Sheffield.
Just short of 2,000 competitors took part and Michael was 24th of 32 on the M70 long course
In the Leeds Half Marathon, Martin Hall was 43rd of the 3,608 finishers. He clocked 1hr 24 minutes nine seconds while club-mate Paul Shields was 123rd in 1.30.58.
Dewsbury Road Runners welcome new members. They meet at Dewsbury Sports Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.40pm.
