Goulding has been called into the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 19-man squad to face Leeds Rhinos at Headingley tonight (Friday).

If Goulding doesn’t feature against the champions, he will be allowed to return and play with Dewsbury in their crunch Kingstone Press Championship clash at Cougar Park.

Rams coach Glenn Morrison has mixed emotions , as he is delighted to see Goulding get a chance in Super League but at the same time, knows the scrum-half could play a key role in his side’s play-off hopes.

Morrison said: “Playing Super League is the pinnacle for all players over here and I’ve always said the loan system was to help young players keep playing and developing to earn another shot at Super League.

“When players get the chance it shows we have done our job as a club but the player has also done his job.”

Morrison has a number of other options at scrum-half, including another promising youngster Jonathan Schofield, while Jy-Mel Coleman could be re-called from his loan spell at Hemel Stags.

Dewsbury’s thrilling 20-16 win over York City Knights last week leaves the Rams seventh in the table, two points behind Whitehaven and eight above second-bottom Hunslet.

Keighley, in ninth, are just two points behind the Rams and Morrison is fully aware the importance of Sunday’s clash.

He added: “It’s a must win game for us but Keighley will also be saying the same.

“We have got a tough run in so we’ve got to go there and get the points.”

Powerful forward Makali Aizue is also set to return from injury and comes into the reckoning for Sunday’s game.
