Dewsbury Rams have suffered another injury blow ahead of Sunday’s game with Halifax as in-form winger Greg Scott is ruled out.

Scott picked up a knee injury in last week’s 42-30 win at Barrow but they do not yet know the full extent of the problem.

Scott could be ruled out for a few weeks but worse case scenario is that it is a season-ending injury and that would come as a huge set back as the winger has been in exceptional form this time and was picked in the Kingstone Press Championship team of the week following the Barrow win.

Rams coach Glenn Morrison said: “Greg is seeing a specialist and hopefully we will get the results back pretty quickly.

“Obviously, he’s a big player for us and we need him back but we said at the start of the season that we had a good squad and some quality players have been missing out so Sunday gives somebody a chance to step in.”

Halifax lie third in the Championship, with six wins, four defeats and a draw from their 11 matches and are four ahead of the Rams.

They go into Sunday’s clash on the back of a 28-12 victory at Rochdale and Morrison knows it will be a tough game.

He added: “Halifax are a top-four side and are a quality team and we are expecting a tough battle but we have a pretty good home record.”

Dewsbury are continuing to monitor Rob Spicer’s rib injury on a week to week basis but he too is ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Fax.
