Halifax have made an inconsistent start to the Kingstone Press Championship season, under new coach Richard Marshall, with two wins and two defeats.

Halifax suffered a 24-12 reversal at home to Featherstone last Sunday and have lost both home games so far, having previously been edged out 18-6 by Leigh Centurions.

Morrison is preparing for a tough game at Halifax, which kick-starts a hectic spell of three games in a week for the Rams.

Morrison said: “They are a top side and didn’t get the win that they wanted last weekend. I think they’ll come out looking for us.

“We’ve had two good results and had it over them over the last couple of years so when we’re on our game we can give them a good go. Obviously we’ve got to turn up to play.”

Dewsbury follow up the Halifax clash with a re-arranged trip to Workington next Wednesday (7.30pm) and with the Newcastle Challenge Cup tie to follow, Morrison is set to rotate his squad.

New signing Paul Jackson, Wayne Godwin and Byron Smith will all come into contention for the next three matches as the Rams look to build on last week’s hard-fought 23-16 victory over Whitehaven.

Jason Muranka, along with Brad and James Delaney have been in impressive form for the Rams Reserves and could also be knocking on the door for a first team call up in one of the next three matches.

James Delaney came off the bench to make a big impact in the Rams Reserves’ 34-16 victory over York last Thursday and Jonathan Schofield’s second string were due to face Leigh Centurions last night.
