Rams look to bounce back at home to Haven

The Rams welcome winless Whitehaven to Tetley’s Stadium on Sunday as they aim to bounce back from week’s defeat at Hunslet Hawks.

While disappointed at his side’s display at South Leeds Stadium, Morrison admits it is important his side put that behind them.

He said: “It is a tough competition and that is shown with only one team still undefeated after the opening three rounds.

“We knew it would be tough last week, with the number of Leeds full-time players (Hunslet) have available but this week will be the same.

“Every team will be wanting to pick up wins at home. We have put in some good performances in pre-season and in our first game but we are also conscious (Whitehaven) took points off us last season.”

The Rams Reserves met York last night and a number of those players could find themselves in the 19-man squad for Sunday’s clash.

Whitehaven have lost their opening three matches, against Halifax, Bradford Bulls and Sheffield, but have a new coach in James Coyle and Morrison is wary his side must return to form.

Morrison added: “We must put last week to bed, get back on the horse and regain our momentum.”

Scans showed that centre Sam Wood has damaged knee cartilage, following an innocuous accident at work, which will require a clear out operation but he is not though to keep him sidelined for long.

Both Stephen Nash and Greg Scott are some way off fitness as they recover from long-term knee injuries.

Nash is due to have further scans to find the extend of his injury.
