Rams face tough clash as they bid to tame Lions

Glenn Morrison’s men are brimming with confidence having won three of their opening four games and they produced some scintillating rugby to thrash Whitehaven 46-8 last week.

The Rams have already beaten Doncaster and Hunslet on the road and will be aiming for a notable hat-trick of away wins at Swinton.

However, Morrison knows it will be a tough test for his young Rams across the Pennines.

Morrison said: “It will be real tough. Swinton lost their coach last week and then had a good win away and will be looking to kick on.

“They have links with Warrington and will have some really experienced players and are a quality team.”

Morrison admits his side are still learning and will have their ups and downs this season but he was pleased with the way they played against Whitehaven.

He added: “That performance has been coming for a while. I knew we had it in us and hopefully it will have given us confidence to play like that.

“We wanted to win at home for the fans and play some good rugby for them to watch and speaking to the fans after, they enjoyed it, so lets hope there’s more of the same.”

Dewsbury play back to back away games as they make the long trip to Barrow on March 10 before returning to Tetley’s Stadium for the visit of Leigh on March 17.

Karl Pryce picked up a shoulder injury but it is hoped he will be given the green light to play and Dewsbury are expected to name the same 19-man squad as last week.
