Rams aim to entertain fans in final home match

Dewsbury welcome Keighley Cougars to Tetley’s Stadium on Sunday (ko 3pm), still harbouring hopes of clinching a top-four finish.

With Doncaster facing Featherstone Rovers and Sheffield meeting Halifax, victory could see Dewsbury move fourth in the table before the final round of matches.

The Rams are currently sixth, level on 48 points with Sheffield and just three behind fourth placed Doncaster but with a far superior points difference.

Morrison said: “We have put ourselves in a good position to finish fourth and this weekend is a big one but all we can do is do our job.

“Keighley are a good team and themselves have a lot to play for but this is our last home game of the regular fixtures and we want to make sure it’s a good one for the fans and to build momentum going into the finals.”

The Rams continue to take big strides on and off the field and fourth place would be the highest a Dewsbury side has finished in the second tier since 2001.

Morrison added: “We are not looking too far ahead but we have improved on last year and, apart from Leigh, we have beaten everyone in the top five and we had chances to have beaten them (Centurions).

“We will look to finish as high as we can and then it all starts again for the play-offs.

“We wanted to keep the nucleus of the side together, improve in one or two areas, and kick on and things are looking good.”

The Cougars currently occupy the final play-off spot but they are under serious pressure from Whitehaven and Keighley still need a bonus point to be mathematically safe from relegation.
