Rampant Rovers trounce ragged Rams

Featherstone Rovers recovered from 12-4 down after 13 minutes to thrash Dewsbury Rams 52-18 at Big Fellas Stadium on Sunday.

The Rams looked capable of causing an upset when Ryan Hepworth and Dale Morton grabbed early tries but Rovers hit back to lead 28-12 at half-time and ran out easy winners in the end.

Will Sharp and Greg Worthington each scored three tries in a victory that kept Rovers three points behind leaders Sheffield.

Their other try scorers were Jonny Hepworth, on-loan Sam Barlow and Liam Finn, who also landed eight goals, including three from the touchline.

Dewsbury were in contention when Aaron Brown scored in the 48th minute and Kieran Hyde kicked his third goal to cut the gap to 28-18 but they finished well beaten after conceding three tries in the last six minutes.
